Beaumesnil is a must see regarding tourism and culture of French heritage. A maze, ponds, a French garden, a beautiful park for walks, furnished interiors and a museum of the binding: amateurs and beginners will find their pleasure!

"Grand salon", library, dining room, apartment of Madam the castle of Beaumesnil, proposes a very beautiful furnished inside.

Bookbindings museum

Numerous bookbindings dated from XVIth c. are displayed. You will first be invited to watch a video explaining the art of bookbinders and gilders in order to appreciate our collection.

A passionate collector, Jean Fürstemberg has put together one of the most important ancient bookbinding ensemble in the world.

Parc and gardens

There is a little left of the gardens that la Quintinie, who later cooperated with Le Notre in Versailles may have designed originally. The gardens were restaured in their XVIIIth c. environments, displaying:
- Formal french gardens
- Two impressive perpectives
- A surprising box trees "labyrinth"
- A nice 100 acres park

The Beaumesnil Castle is located in Normandy's Eure department, 140 km from Paris. Beaumesnil is a rare masterpiece of the Louis XIII baroque style. It is partially classified as a French historical monument.

The interiors and the museum are open :

From Easter to june 30th : fridays to mondays - from 14h to 18h

July-August : everyday from 10h30 to 12h30 and from 13:h0 to 18h00

September : everyday except on tuesday, from 14h to 18h


Gardens are open :

From Easter to june 30th and in September : everyday except on tuesday, from 10h to 18h.

July-August : everyday from 10h to 18h.
